Our Pugins
Two Pugins have been responsible for the design of major portions of our parish buildings: Augustus and his eldest son Edward.
Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin
Augustus designed the church as a whole, and oversaw the building of the nave and aisles, the east window, and the Lady Chapel. He also designed the original part of the presbytery and the sacristy, and the passage connecting the two.
Edward Welby Pugin
Edward designed the original two-storey parish school. His work is still the core of the community centre now named Pugin Place, though it has been extended at both front and rear.
