There are three free on-street parking spaces, with a time-limit of two hours, on Woolwich New Road near the church gates. As the church is in the town centre, these spaces are rarely vacant during the day-time.
The Tesco car-park, on Woolwich New Road opposite the church, provides extended free parking on Sundays: unlimited before 11am and after 5pm, and for two hours between 11am and 5pm. From Monday to Saturday, free parking is limited to 30 minutes, but shoppers who spend at least £5 in the store can park for up to 3 hours. Parking is free from 10pm on Christmas Eve and throughout Christmas Day, and from 8pm on New Year’s Eve.
The council car-park in Calderwood Street offers free parking on Sundays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and after 6.30pm on other days.
The few parking spaces on the church site are restricted to those with mobility difficulties, those delivering or collecting bulky items, and those on business lasting more than three hours. Please contact the parish secretary by email or phone (details above) to make arrangements for this. The parking spaces are accessed along a narrow route between the church and the Parish Centre, which is heavily used by pedestrians – drivers must take great care when manoeuvring on this site.
Pedestrian access to the church site is via one of two gates. The gate to the left has a small step but the one to the right provides level access. The gates are wide enough for a wheelchair when both gate-leaves are opened.
The main (West) door of the church has three steps with handrails. The side (South) door gives ramped access, without handrails. For those attending services and functions, wheelchairs may be positioned in the side-aisles or at the East end of the South aisle.
An induction loop system is installed in the church for those using hearing-aids.
There are no accessible WCs within the church building, but they are available in the adjacent Parish Centre, which also has level access.
